Dear Reader,
My ministry began in 1977 shortly after returning from a weekend attending, a three-day outdoor concert and evangelistic crusade known as “Jesus 77”. It was there that I turned my heart over to the Lord and experienced the saving power of God.
After returning home I had an overwhelming desire to share my experience with others. Along with six others, we became involved with a coffeehouse ministry that was an evangelical outreach of Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle. The outreach flourished and grew rapidly.
Sensing a need to be better equipped and to more effectively share the Gospel, God led me to leave that ministry and pursue an education in Bible study. My wife Colleen and I attended Central Bible College in Springfield Missouri. After three years I received a B.A. degree in Biblical Studies. During my education I was the associate pastor of a small country church just outside of Springfield.
In 1982 along with my wife and baby daughter we returned to New York to help establish a new Church on the East end of Long Island. With friend and associate, Len Maglione and wife Anita, Church of the Harvest began in a small house as an outreach in Riverhead.
Over the years the church has grown as did my family. My wife and I have ten children: Michel, Michael, Vincent, Christina, Matthew, Jesse, Jonathan, David, Joshua, and Noah. We are blessed with a rich life, one to be shared and devoted to the encouragement of people to trust and experience the everlasting love of God.
Yours truly,
Pastor Mike Troiano
